15 suppliers at Organic Africa Pavilion – stand 4-269

The Organic Africa Pavilion is back at BioFach 2017. This year we present 15 suppliers from Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The exhibitors will bring high quality products from all over the continent. From exciting and innovative products such as baobab, moringa, neem and desert africa-pavillion-logodate, to products of everyday use like mango, honey, coconut, coffee and cocoa.

Last year’s Organic Africa Pavilion was a big success. Several companies received fixed orders and contracts to export their products to Europe and other markets. We are working together with our partners Agro Eco Louis Bolk Institute from Ghana and the CBI from the Netherlands at the pavilion.

E-mail us if you want to meet an exhibitor or learn more about the Organic Africa Pavilion.

Launching innovative certification tool with FairWild Foundation

At Biofach 2017, ProFound will launch our innovative integrated certification tool for wild-collected ingredients during the FairWild Standard presentation: sustainability solutions for wild-collected ingredients (see details below). This tool will allow natural ingredient suppliers to more easily assess and certify their supply chains, thus adding value to their produce.

The tool is a one-stop solution to implement sustainable quality management standards and good practices for wild collection, including FairWild, Good Agricultural Collection Practices (GACP), organic and fair trade.

“The tool helps suppliers with sustainable sourcing and traceability of their ingredients and makes it easier and faster to get certified and access international markets. We’re piloting this tool in Pakistan, in a project supported by CBI” – Bert-Jan Ottens, managing director of ProFound

“With the support and guidance of ProFound and FairWild in the CBI programme, we are now able to integrate our multiple certifications in one process.” – Muhammad Zahid Durrani, Hunza Organics

Want to learn more about this innovative tool? Join our ProFound consultants at the FairWild presentation on Friday 17 February from 12:00-14:00 in Prag NCC Ost. Or send an e-mail  if you want to receive information and updates about the tool.

Three Pakistani suppliers at CBI – stand 4-751

Our new integrated certification tool is piloted in Northern Pakistan with CBI. This pilot aims at exporting sustainably sourced and certified pine nuts to Europe. At the CBI stand 4-751, we present three Pakistani suppliers: Hunza Organics, Organo Botanica and Mountain Fruits. In addition to pine nuts, these companies will bring dried fruits, such as apple and sea buckthorn, edible nuts, like almond and apricot kernels, vegetable oils and rice.

The pilot in Pakistan focuses on the sustainable sourcing of high-quality pine nuts, by implementing multiple quality and sustainability standards. By doing so, suppliers aim to add more value to their products on international markets, in order to better manage their resource base and improve the livelihoods of their mountain communities.

Come by CBI stand 4-751 to learn more about the pilot in Pakistan and meet these suppliers.
