Fluta Non
About Fluta Non
Fluta Non is a social enterprise committed to the enhancement of agroforestry in São Tomé and Príncipe by supporting the production and processing of the products into dehydrated flours. Fluta Non “Our fruit” (in Forro, local language), processes many products into flour, including banana (4 varieties), bread fruit, jackfruit, cassava, sweet potato, cocoyam (tarot) and pumpkin. It also produces dehydrated fruits: pineapple, banana, jackfruit, mango, cajá-mango, and papaya.
All dehydration of the flours and fruits is carried out through an isothermal process, which guarantees the absence of contamination and preserves all the nutritional properties of each product.
The raw material for the products comes from the organic cultivation of small farmers trained and accompanied by FLUTA NON in the management of their own parcels through the use of organic, sustainable, environmentally friendly cultural practices focusing on the protection of the rich biodiversity (with many endemic species) of the country.
The productions are acquired at fair prices and in a spirit of solidarity. The company’s processing unit is located in the city of Neves (Costa Santos) in the district of Lembá, the North-Western side of the island.
