In this article, we want to introduce you to Alliance Bio, suppliers of organic dried pineapple and pineapple juice from Togo. Alliance Bio will be co-exhibiting in the Organic Africa Pavilion at BioFach 2022. BioFach will take place in Nuremberg Germany from the 26nd to the 29th of July this year.
About Alliance Bio
Alliance Bio is a cooperative supported by the PROCAT project. The PROCAT project (Projet d’appui à l’amélioration de la Compétitivité de la filière d’ananas au Togo), funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is comprised of around 4,000 small-holder farmers in the middle and south part of Togo are the major suppliers of organic pineapple to processing companies.
The project focuses on strengthening the competitiveness of companies in the pineapple value chain and supports marketing at local, regional, and international level. Food processing companies supported by PROCAT are grouped in cooperatives to improve their export capacities and offer quality processed products to the markets.

About Alliance Bio dried pineapple
“Alliance Bio” offers both dried pineapple rings and chunks. Togolese pineapple is one of the main crops the country can rely on to improve its export income. Around 4 000 small-holder farmers in the middle and south part of the country are the major suppliers of the organic pineapple to processing companies. These companies offer fresh pineapple, dried pineapple, and pineapple juice. Two main varieties of pineapple are grown in Togo: Smooth cayenne used for fresh pineapple and Sugar loaf for juice.

PROCAT has obtained several certificates including certification for Tropic Bio, AllBIO Certificate, Alliance, Bio certificate, Agri-FECO SARL certificate, and SETRAPAL TOGO certificate.
